Custom Pullout Shelves Make Liquor Storage Easy in Dallas, TX
Liquor bottles, cocktail shakers, tumblers, and small appliances can be awkward to store in a standard kitchen cabinet. Bottles are tall, items get pushed to the back, and a fixed shelf often leaves you with space that simply doesn't work for what you need to store.
For this Dallas, Texas homeowner, we created a custom pullout storage solution designed around those exact problems.
Tall Storage Without Wasted Space
The existing cabinet had a fixed shelf that limited the usable height inside the cabinet. We removed that shelf and installed a deep, full-extension pullout on the bottom.
Removing the original shelf gave us the extra vertical clearance needed for tall liquor bottles, cocktail accessories, tumblers, and even small appliances.
And because the entire pullout comes out of the cabinet, there's no reaching around the bottles in front to find something hidden in the back.
A Heavy-Duty Pullout Built for the Weight
Liquor storage can get heavy very quickly. That's why the bottom pullout in this cabinet was designed with a 200-pound capacity.
The pullout itself is constructed from solid white birch, providing the strength needed for heavier storage while giving the cabinet a clean, finished appearance.
Instead of worrying about overloading a standard cabinet shelf, the homeowner now has a substantial pullout designed for the job.
A Shorter Pullout Makes Use of the Space Above
We didn't need all that height for everything.
Above the large bottom pullout, we installed a shorter custom pullout shelf that's ideal for the smaller things that accompany a home bar—shot glasses, cocktail accessories, bottle openers, specialty items, and other supplies that are easy to lose inside a large cabinet.
The two different pullout heights allow the same cabinet to handle two very different kinds of storage.
Custom Means Building Around What You Actually Store
That's one of the advantages of custom pullout shelves.
We aren't limited to simply replacing an existing cabinet shelf with something that slides. We can look at what you actually want to store and configure the cabinet accordingly.
In this Dallas kitchen, removing the original shelf gave the homeowner the height needed below, while the shallow upper pullout preserved convenient storage for smaller items.
The result is a cabinet where practically everything can be pulled into view and reached easily.
